Parul Kapur Hinzen

Blog

Alongside writing fiction, Parul has been a book critic for a number of print publications, including New York Newsday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The American Book Review. In 2010, she began an online gig as the books columnist for ArtsATL.com, Atlanta’s leading arts review. She covers both fiction and non-fiction, paying extra attention to issues central to the South and its history, such as race relations and the civil rights movement. She also writes about a wide range of literary fiction, and especially enjoys Q & As with authors about their writing process and why they choose the subjects they do.  She has been lucky enough to sit down with Atlanta’s own Isabel Wilkerson, author of the definitive contemporary book on black migration North, The Warmth of Other Suns, as well as talk to many wonderful writer passing through town, such as Richard Ford, Gary Shteyngart and Karen Russell.

You can find her reviews and interviews at ArtsATL.com.
